Modernizing Infrastructure with Intelligent Assets

Abstract: There is an ever present need to modernize infrastructure in multiple industries across the world. The need to provide more efficient transportation, more reliable power, cleaner water, and more productive farming grows greater by the day and we need a better way to enable the business to apply modern technologies in a simpler way. We all depend on infrastructure, our future and our planet’s future relies on having a modern highly capable infrastructure. The industry is shifting –  Intelligent Assets is driving the modernization of infrastructure by combining edge computing, no-code, artificial intelligence and hardware to deliver an experience that doesn’t require a computer science degree to roll out. Companies are modernizing infrastructure and scaling in weeks with Intelligent Assets as their business units do their own automation. Now is the time to begin implementing Intelligent Assets and start on the path to creating more modern infrastructures. Speaker: Eric...

Implementing AI Securely in IoT: An Overview of Artificial Intelligence and How It Can Be Securely Brought Online

Abstract: With the accelerated growth of data generated by the Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the traditional cloud computing model by transferring all data to the cloud for processing has become antiquated and gradually failed to meet the real-time requirements of IoT services. Security and privacy preservation have become critical issues. Despite great progress in artificial intelligence (AI) opening limitless possible windows to address the security challenges; AI is oftentimes misunderstood. In this discussion, Ben Wald will give an overview of the contribution of AI to IoT security and how it can be securely brought online. Speaker: As the Founder of Very, Ben has helped lead over 250 product launches in the last decade, guiding a growing team of more than 50 engineers, designers, and data scientists in understanding our clients’ challenges and building custom IoT solutions. Before founding Very in 2011, Ben served as the executive director at Ashoka...

Smart Networks Towards A Digital Renaissance

How was the world without the digital revolution of AI, IoT, AR, VR? Less connected, but more secure! With the world still reeling under Covid-19, digital channels continue being used, increasing pressure on digital security. So, do cybersecurity threats looming on the horizon suggest putting a halt to the dreams of sprawling end-to-end digitized networks? Or is there some hope? Can technology solve the issues that it created itself? Gone are the days of networks that relied on traditional network security measures and infrastructure. To address the heightened risk of cyber threats, security must be everywhere across the extended network. The mission to keep networks up and secure must continue. But for that, the network needs to be prepared. In the past, external devices were used to gather data to provide deep insights into the current and future performance of the network. But today, sensors, firewalls, or intrusion detection prevention...

Securing the Intelligent Edge: Threats and Countermeasures

Abstract: The traditional IT infrastructures of the past have evolved their edge ecosystems significantly, including but not limited to IOT, WAN, multi-cloud, and Work from Home to name a few. This creates a complex environment with its own set of risks and vulnerabilities that can be exploited. Cybercriminals consider these a prime target to infiltrate and organizations must shift vital resources to mitigate these emerging threats. Speaker: George Young serves as both the Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Technologist, for CB Technologies, specializing in Intelligent Edge Solutions. As a domain expert in networking and cybersecurity engineered solutions, he has a strong background in many strategic and tactical areas around data protection and safekeeping, including: access control, information security governance and risk management, cryptography, security architecture and design, operations security, business continuity/disaster recovery planning, developing/enhancing information security programs, regulations/compliance (e.g., HIPPA, CCPA, CMMC, GDPR, ISO 27000), and audit execution. Link Labs AirFinder vs. Apple AirTag for Commercial Asset Management

Abstract: In April, Apple launched its new location technology: AirTags. Since then, commercial industries in need of an asset management solution have been curious about its use within enterprises. It’s critical for businesses that operate within an indoor facility, or even ship goods or products to and from a facility, to have a comprehensive solution to locate and monitor business-critical assets. Although AirTags enable users to visualize an asset’s location, AirTag is far more suited for consumer use and has many limitations in enterprise use cases. Link Labs, however, has been pioneering commercial location technology for years. AirFinder, its patented IoT asset tracking platform, is a comprehensive asset management solution that empowers companies to have better management over their most critical assets. In light of Industry 4.0 using IoT to improve manufacturing, AirFinder will have an immense impact on this revolution – it can scale to meet a manufacturing company’s...

Closing panel – What Customers Expect from IoT Providers

Abstract: The relationship between suppliers and their customers is a crucial element in the successful adoption and deployment of IoT solutions. The panel will be exploring how suppliers and customers exchange information to explore the problem and solution space that IoT offerings and technologies address. The spotlight will be on how the complexity of IoT ecosystems can be overcome to efficiently reach a consensus view and accelerate the time from first contact to final commitment by customers. At the heart of this is establishing the “comfort level” with both financial and strategic outcomes that execution will meet customer expectations. The focus will be on the impacts on the customer in three areas: selection of technical solutions; the implications for the business and business models; and the consequences and outcomes for the customer workforce. Speakers: Dr. Adam T. Drobot is a technologist with over forty years of experience in industry, the...
