Session Abstract:

As the world becomes increasingly connected and data-driven, the convergence of edge computing and artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming industries and unlocking new possibilities. This panel session brings together experts to explore the synergy of edge computing and AI, focusing on real-world use cases and applications. The panelists will discuss how edge computing, with its ability to process data closer to the source, combined with AI capabilities such as machine learning and deep learning, can enable advanced analytics, automation, and decision-making at the edge. Join us to delve into the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in harnessing the power of edge computing and AI for various domains including energy, transportation, and manufacturing.

Jem Pagan CEO of The BluSky Group: Approved architecture and purchases for (52) Agencies, Boards and Commissions – $4B annual IT spend. Developed and implemented a strategic governance model and process for all statewide IT policies and standards. Developed the Business Solutions Center of Excellence, a collaborative and cost-savings Service Oriented Architecture standard for .Net and Java code sharing and reuse as scalable component-driven modules for enterprise application development. Designed and developed an enterprise service delivery model that closely integrates with the Federal Gov’t Reference Models (Business, Service, Performance, Technology) to achieve more effective and efficient services through performance measures, strategic alignment, and business process integration. Established the Identity Protection and Management (IPaM) Advisory Board to develop identity management processes and architectures for state employees, partners and citizens. Developed and implemented the enterprise security initiative called Operation Secure Enterprise comprised of (9) enterprise projects to provide Intranet, Internet and Extranet information security. Established an enterprise cyber-security emergency response plan and policy to provide security for 80,000 users, 5,000 servers, and 12M customers. Developed the bylaws and charter for the formation of the Enterprise Security Council, with membership among the Chief Information Security Officers of key agencies, as an executive oversight and advisory resource for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania regarding enterprise cyber security incidents, polices, standards and procedures.

Eric Simone is the Founder and CEO of ClearBlade Inc., an Enterprise Edge Computing Internet of Things (IoT) software company focused on large Enterprises in the transportation, building facilities, and connected products markets. Prior to starting ClearBlade, Eric was the founder and CTO of Compete Incorporated, which sold to Perficient Inc. (PRFT) for $63M in May of 2000. Earlier in his career, Eric achieved success in senior engineering, product and sales positions at IBM and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Eric has a degree in Computer Science from Purdue University and is a recognized Distinguished Alumni. Eric resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Toni and 2 sons, Xander and Dexter.

Guy Merritt is an experienced C-suite executive, Guy has 35 years engineering leadership advising and developing IoT solutions, native cloud-based systems, products and engineering & manufacturing test solutions for a wide variety of industries. He is an author of the award-winning book “Proactive Risk Management: Controlling Uncertainty in Product Development.”

SASPaul Venditti is an experienced Leader (29+ years) and strategist with a passion for leveraging technology and customer relationships to create solutions that solve tough problems and excite people. Constantly looking for new ways to gain and embed desired customer insights into new innovative software solutions across a number of different industry-application areas.

Dave Eifert is the Senior Business Development Manager – IIoT for Phoenix Contact USA. Prior to accepting this role, he was the Industry Manager for Water Resource Management at Phoenix Contact. Earlier in his career he served in various business development, marketing and technical sales roles for various leading companies. Dave received a BS in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management from Clarkson University. He currently resides in Cleveland Ohio, and when not working enjoys playing guitar and singing, road and mountain biking, traveling, writing, and hanging out with his wife and two adult children.

Harry Grewal is the Director of Partnerships at Litmus Automation, an industrial IoT startup building an industrial edge data platform that unifies device connectivity, data intelligence and data integration in a complete Industry 4.0 solution. As an experienced supply chain and manufacturing software professional, Harry has 13 years of experience working on building and implementing information systems across global enterprises, leading pre-sales engineering and partnerships with companies of all sizes. Harry is a passionate technologist and strives to solve complex problems with the application of modern software. When his 5 year old daughter allows for some downtime, he likes to build small software apps and ride his motorcycle out in the country.
