A 4-tier approach to secure Industrial IoT deployments
Session Abstract:
Security concern is one of the major deterrents in Industrial IoT adoption. Any Industrial IoT deployment involves multiple technologies, platforms and vendors. Many IoT use cases such as a smart city comprises of more than one industry vertical – such as transportation, water and power utilities, building infrastructure etc. The sheer complexity of IIoT deployments, coupled with a lack of matured security certification techniques make security assurance difficult, if not impossible.
However when done right, it is possible to orchestrate secured IIoT deployments. In this session a 4-tier approach will be discussed to help architects and CxOs to envision and address the end-to-end variables in securing their deployments. This approach has been collaboratively developed with the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC). Security involves cost and resources, besides there’s no silver bullet for secure everything. This session will walk through a practical and methodical approach to right-size IIoT security for every use case.
