Smart Cities could save the world $22 Trillion by 2050 according to the Global Commission on Economy & Climate. It is estimated that there is over 200+ Smart City projects already active and planned for the next 2-3 years. Due to the complexity and diversity these projects encompass including transportation, environment, housing/offices, energy, healthcare, security, education and governance it is paramount for their success that the technology building blocks used guarantee the flexibility, security, interoperability and standardisation required to deliver success.
