As we move to the connected, smart and predictive evolution era – where we can embrace a door to store and store to door ecosystem that can enable personalized user, patient and consumer needs. Infrastructure and process must exist across Smart Cities and the Connected Buildings and Constituents, that provide the ability to tap advancements and improvements – from significantly increasing efficiency to possibly saving lives. Join Denise Hatzidakis as she moderates a panel of experts from Sigfox, Uber, RIoT, RigNet and Flexera, who will discuss the commonality that exists of how business value can be realized through the Application of IoT to vertical industries – and what is needed in order to monitize IoT and get meaningful outcomes.

I have a solid record of delivering complex, high risk, innovative projects. An accomplished IT Executive and decisive leader of strategic technical initiatives, uniquely qualified to interface with business and technology; developing technology roadmaps and leading implementations to ensure IT investments provide the appropriate business value.

Rahul Vijay – Head of Global Telecom Sourcing | Uber, is a key partner to business development teams in managing partner-supplier ecosystems. He is also a Key partner to CFOs to successfully achieve total cost of ownership reduction goals, a Key partner to CTOs for technology renting and buying strategies, a Key partner to chief legal officers for risk reduction, compliance and contracting. Rahul has end-to-end source to pay experience including partnerships, sourcing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, contract law, systems, market drivers, understanding of cost structures and sales incentives. Regularly engages in executive presentations, reporting, capital and expense planning, cost modeling, inventory planning and analytics. Rahul is a seasoned deal-maker and negotiator and is well networked in high-tech industry with a deep understanding of key players and emerging technologies and trends. He possess a trusted network of global peers and mentors and regularly partners with organizational presidents and directors to develop business cases, perform due diligence analyses and Buy vs. Rent vs. Build strategies. He is an expert in supplier management and risk management. Have led teams to effectively partner up with cross-functional teams to ‘get things done quickly’ in complex large organizations. Rahul is adept at internal selling and have built teams from scratch. Fakri Sadeh – VP Networks, North America at Sigfox – is a technology and business leader within the wireless industry for over 20 years with emphasis on the development, deployment and operations of wireless technologies and networks: IoT, RAN, DAS, Small Cells and Wi-Fi across the United States. Held roles of increasing responsibilities ranging from handset Engineering to Regional and Area Director of Technology Planning to RAN RF Engineering, National Director of DAS and Small Cells and currently the Vice President of Networks, creatively driving a unique balance of quality and industry leading cost performance, with focus on the development of high-performing teams. Strong technical and business qualifications with an impressive track record of more than 17 years of hands-on experience in strategic planning, business unit development, project and product management, and system engineering strategies. Proven ability to successfully analyze an organization’s critical business requirements, identify deficiencies and potential opportunities, and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for enhancing competitiveness, increasing revenues, and improving customer service offerings.

Tom Snyder is Executive Director of RIoT, supporting Internet of Things and disruptive technology industry growth. By day he runs RIoT Labs at HQ Raleigh. In his spare time, Tom co-instructs Product Innovation Lab, a Forbes award winning multi-disciplinary course in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at NC State. Prior to joining RIoT, Tom held an executive leadership role at the ASSIST Center, a National Science Foundation sponsored effort to create wearable electronics for healthcare monitoring. Previously, he spent two decades in product development and technology incubation in NC. He’s passionate about creating and fostering collaborations across disciplines, markets and cultures. He enjoys the outdoors, woodworking, boardgames, big crowds, craft beer and ideas that are just crazy enough to work.

Cris Wendt is a Senior Director Monetization Strategy at Flexera. Cris focuses on strategic business model issues relating to implementing software and IoT monetization, as well as the internal change management aspects of undertaking this business transformation. With extensive monetization, licensing and compliance experience he helps companies define and implement their digital business models.

Danielle Edwards is the Vice President of Internet of Things & Apps for RigNet. In this role, Danielle focuses on helping customers leverage cutting-edge IoT solutions that enhance the safety, security, and workforce productivity of businesses with remote operations all over the world.  With more than 17 years of experience in product management, Danielle specializes in developing innovative solutions that enhance competitiveness, identifying cost savings opportunities, and improving customer offerings. Before joining RigNet, Danielle served as a senior principal product manager for Intelsat, where she was responsible for product management of maritime satellite solutions.
