IoT Slammys 2023 Judge – John Gottula, PhD

John Gottula, PhD, is an agtech innovator with an applied crop science background and a passion for analytics. Holding a doctorate from Cornell University, John formerly directed crop biotechnology studies and led global agronomic development programs. John is the co-creator of #AgileAg, a movement to link agile processes with crop science to drive analytics adoption in the agriculture industry.

I’m honored to join a distinguished group of agriculture technology leaders to judge the Precision Agriculture IoT applications for the Slammys Awards. We’re finally at the era where connectivity, analytics and business models are converging to enable agricultural producers – whether crop, livestock and indoor to implement low CapEx IoT solutions to reduce labor and unnecessary expenses. The breadth of applications represents this diversity and spirit of optimism. I look forward to interacting with the finalists December 13-14 at the IoT Grand Slam in Houston.
