Fast data in the IoT – Solutions in ING’s data lake for streaming and real-time data processing
The Internet of Things provides many interesting opportunities for the financial industry. Banks can have access to sensor data from mobile phones, payment terminals, households, cars, etc. This new connected world is a key element to real-time transactions processing which leads to an improved customer experience. Therefore, ING is investing in big data, analytics and stream processing to improve business processes such as balance forecasting, fraud detection and customer relation management. We are working on large scale with big data technologies to set up a data lake where all data flows from the bank come together. In this talk I’ll give an overview of this data lake, and present a framework for real-time analysis of financial transactions to detect fraud in the IoT.
