5 Pitfalls of Cellular IoT Device Design and How to Avoid Them

Unlike other wireless IoT technologies, mobile networks present challenges that can and do frequently lead to product delays and issues in the field. Whether your design is in automotive, logistics, agriculture or other verticals, and regardless of whether you’re building for one of the new NB-IoT, LTE-M services or other cellular standards, you’ll likely face these issues. We’ve seen the problems in the real world. This talk will share five specific issues, present the risks of not addressing them, and share practical advise on how to avoid them.
Saul Einbinder is vice president of venture development for the Connected Devices business segment at Spirent Communications. His current area of focus is new business opportunities in emerging technologies including the Internet of Things, in addition to heading product marketing.
Prior to joining Spirent, Saul held several strategic and operational leadership roles including senior vice president of marketing and business development for uReach Technologies, vice president of operations and product management at Evident Software, and director of emerging technology at Lucent. Earlier in his career, he served as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories.
A native of New York, Saul holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from CUNY and a Master’s degree in computer science from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
