Leveraging Geolocation to Unlock IoT Value
Because many IoT use-cases involve movable “things”, physical location is a key element in a comprehensive IoT solution. The ability to track or monitor location can help unlock additional value. But locating IoT devices presents unique challenges due to their intrinsic power, storage capacity, battery life and processing limitations.
Skyhook, pioneers and 20 year veterans of mobile location methods, will present an overview of the IoT-related strengths, drawbacks, and lessons learned for the various location methods on the market today including:
*Beacons (e.g. BLE)
*Hybrid combinations of the above
Skyhook’s presentation will cover various use-cases including:
*People tracking (e.g., field workers, opted-in customers)
No matter your device, use-case or carriage technology (e.g., LoRa, NB-IOT, Sigfox), accurate, ubiquitous location is achievable.
